Also, fortuitously, a former student of mine — she and her wife were in a class I taught on social movements ages ago — just got back in touch with me, to tell me about her transition from male to female. Here’s her account of how that change affected her relationship to sports, which has a great deal of relevance to our conversations over the previous two classes.
This also reminded me of what a privilege it can be to teach and be part of so many different kinds of transitions — thanks for a great quarter.
